I began my career in management and after studying with the Open University, qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. It was during my time working as a manager of a small finance team that I first became aware of my ability and desire to understand people at a deeper level. This was the beginning of a career change that took me down a very different path to the one I had envisaged and originally trained for.
I set out to study counselling and after four years of study, I qualified as a humanistic integrative counsellor. I used my counselling skills in a variety of organisations, starting in the drug and alcohol addiction arena, from harm reduction in active users through to aftercare and rehabilitation, later moving into private counselling of individuals with a wide range of issues outside of addiction.
My interest in hypnotherapy really took off after a mutual friend suggested I contact Debbie as they knew we shared common ground. My first meeting with her led to me losing all my preconceived ideas about hypnosis and I left truly believing in the power of hypnotherapy. The rest, as they say, is history! We went on to set up Spectrum Clinical Hypnotherapy Training where we combined our individual talents and passion.
I believe in working with clients and students in order to achieve their full potential. Inevitably, the process continues long after having therapy or training. My role is as a facilitator who kick starts that process by tuning in to the students preferred learning style or the clients unspoken fears or desires, suggested through what they do state.
As an organisation, we aim to bring out the very best in an individual and work with passion to make that happen.
